Reaching out to a therapist can be a big, and often daunting, step. At CRC, we believe that the first step to change is one of the most important. Here’s what you can expect…
- Caring and knowledgeable client services coordinators who will take your contact information, ask about your needs, and determine which of our therapists is the best match for you.
- Clear information about your payment options. We will discuss payment options during your initial contact. To assist with this process, we recommend that you have your insurance card handy when you call and that you contact your insurance company to determine if your plan covers outpatient mental health care at CRC.
- Financial aid options for those who qualify.
- Paperwork will be sent to you via email to complete prior to your first appointment.
Your First Appointment
Your first appointment is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know one another. Your therapist will ask questions about your life, your background, your mental health history, and your therapy goals. You’ll also have an opportunity to begin collaborating with your therapist on a treatment plan and discussing how your life can be improved by coming to therapy. This is a chance to tell your therapist what you want to be different in your life and to begin discussing how to get there.
It’s important to remember to bring intake documents, your co-pay (if you have one), your photo ID, and insurance card to your first session. During your first session, you’ll schedule future therapy appointments for a time that works for you and your therapist.
